Still Seeking Guest Posts!

My suitcases are getting quite a work out this summer... seems that just as soon as I unpack, it's time to start packing all over again. In just a couple weeks my suitcases and I will be jetting off to Washington (and, officially speaking, I'll be a married woman when I return). Beyond that, parties, planning, and then THE BIG WEDDING.

So friends, I am in need of some guest posts! I received a stunning submission from the lovely Andrea, so you'll be in good company. For more information, click on over to my original post!

Seeking Guest Posts!

Between creative gigs, wedding planning, a bachelorette party weekend, and actually going to the chapel (eee!), I'm going to be a busy girl this summer!

I've got a cat-sitter lined up, but I need someone to watch over my blog. Would you like to be a guest blogger at Shock the Bourgeois? I'm now accepting submissions for posts to be featured while I'm off galavanting next month.

Guest posts should...

  • Be original, not previously published elsewhere.
  • Stay consistent with the curious aesthetic of Shock the Bourgeois.
  • Include between one and five images (500 pixels wide, and properly credited).
Email your submissions to shockthebourgeois@mac.com. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Blue Mood

No, not sad- I'm quite happily immersing myself in all the colors of the Northwest, especially the chilly blue of the Puget Sound.

I wake up in this gray and blue bedroom, just the shades of the waves outside my window.
(Doesn't my Mother have lovely taste? I'm tempted to make this a permanent vacation...)

These pale periwinkle hydrangeas were begging to be photographed in downtown Edmonds.

So much prettiness, and it's so nice to be home.

I promise I won't let the blog get too quiet,

Elizabeth

Projects

Whenever it's quiet on the blog, you can figure that things are buzzing in real life. In a few days we're headed to Hoopfest, where Adam and his tall athletic family will be playing basketball and getting tan, and I will be short, pale, and harping about sunscreen. Reeeeeeally looking forward to it.

I've got to get back to packing, but I thought I'd tantalize you with things to come.

A cabinet of curiosities...

and my mercantile-style china cabinet.

Back soon,

Elizabeth

Welcome Home, Me

We're back in the East Bay after the most beautiful wedding I've ever seen and a reunion with the friends that I love most. I'm going to spend the day reliving the week's mischief and trying to ignore the pang of each mile now between us. Since I'm tearing up as I write this, I guess I'm not really succeeding with that last part. Becca and Matt, could you please renew your vows soon?

Looking on the bright side, it was nice to come home and find my very tiny garden blooming.
And greeting me with a smile.

Away From My Desk

Hi all, I'm currently away from my desk...

And blogging from the Ace Hotel in Portland! I'm going to be here through the weekend for my ex-roomie's epic wedding / college reunion. Naturally my camera chose yesterday to breathe its last dying breath, but I'm hoping I can capture some of the week's events with my iPhone... this hotel is one design epiphany after another, so I can't wait to share!

For now, keep your eyes on the blog, we've got a few tidbits to share while we're off galavanting in my second-favorite city on earth.

XoXo from Portland,

Elizabeth

Happy Birthday, Adam!

Dear Adam,

I know you're spending your 26th birthday alone, but I can't feel too sorry for you. Two reasons:

1. You share your birthday with Elvis Presley and David Bowie.

I'd say that's pretty good company.

2. We can always celebrate belatedly. How does 2 weeks from today sound?

I hope you're not too busy, because SURPRISE...

I'll be there.

I can't wait to see you. Happy birthday, Adam.

I love you,

Your girl
