Pinning on a Sick Day

I've been a sniffly, shivery, sleepy, surly sick person this week. Not exactly a pleasure to be around, even online. Cold medicines ought to add "may cause incoherent tweeting and typo-riddled blog posts" to their list of side effects. Blah. So today I'm in hibernation with a lap cat, a mug of tea, and the safely non-verbal inspiration of Pinterest. Pretty pictures may indeed cure what ails me.

I'm closing in on 1,000 pins, and gaining followers even more rapidly. In fact, I now a have a larger audience on Pinterest than on this blog, twitter, and facebook... combined. This is somehow both immensely flattering and discouraging. A part of me appreciates Pinterest as a resource, and as a wealth of ideas. I'm always happy to share an image that catches my eye, and thrilled when others repin. But another (grumpier) part of me wonders if my own creativity can ever have the same resonance. It could be the cough medicine talking, but it's something to think about as I enter a new year of blogging.

Ohhh, I absolutely adore the pic of the kitties lazing around on the bed! I have two black cats who become permanent fixtures on our bed :)

It was great to meet you last night! I had wanted to tell you that your eyeliner is exquisite! What brand/brush do you use?

Sarah...

Isn't that picture darling? Love catching our cats belly-up, it totally melts me.

So nice to meet you too! Can't wait to delve into your blog archives :D We'll have to set up a coffee date as soon as I'm settled in town!

I think I've tried just about every liquid eyeliner out there- but I love the felt tips that Revlon makes. So easy for everyday cat eyes.

Oh those are your kitties? What a great capture! Our cat Max will often groom Ginger and lick her head and face -- she just laps it up... until he bites. :)

Yes, I would love to connect for coffee when you get settled!

You know, I have been using Loreal's liquid liner for years and years. Everyone it seems swears by MAC, but it's nice to hear that another drug store brand works just as well.

No, not my kitties- I wish mine would hold still long enough for a picture like that! Also wish that they liked each other (they don't, at all).

I'm a big believer in inexpensive makeup!

Let's get in touch soon!

Pinterest is totally addictive! I can't decide if it's a waste of time, a valuable creative endeavor, or somewhere in the middle. But I know I spent a sick day a few weeks ago doing the same thing-- and it was completely satisfying!!
